The contract

A good contract will take account of the relationships and responsibilities within the service contract, though it will not necessarily refer to all of them explicitly. It will refer to the SLA and state its standing in relation to the contract and the day-to-day provision and management of the contracted services.

It may, for example, have provision for End Users to be represented at regular meetings between the Supplier and the Managing Department, and it will include the title and contact details for the person(s) in the managing department who is responsible for contract management.

It will contain a clause, or clauses, about ethical behaviour but is unlikely to refer directly to the relationship between the Managing Department and the Institution.
